Here's a simple recipe for making cold brew coffee:
Ingredients:
- 1 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
- 4 cups cold water (filtered if possible)
- Optional: sweeteners, milk, or flavorings to taste
Instructions:
1. In a large jar or pitcher, combine the coarsely ground coffee beans and cold water.
2. Stir gently to ensure all the coffee grounds are fully saturated.
3. Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and let it steep at room temperature for 12 to 24 hours. The longer you steep, the stronger the coffee will be.
4. Once the steeping time is complete, strain the coffee mixture using a fine-mesh sieve or a coffee filter lined in a funnel into a clean container. This will remove the coffee grounds.
5. If desired, dilute the cold brew concentrate with water to your preferred strength. You can adjust the ratio of coffee concentrate to water based on personal preference.
6. Serve the cold brew coffee over ice and add any sweeteners, milk, or flavorings according to your taste. You can also store the cold brew in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Note: Cold brew coffee is a concentrate, so it's meant to be diluted before consumption. Experiment with the ratio of coffee concentrate to water to find your perfect balance of strength and flavor.
Enjoy your refreshing and smooth cold brew coffee!
